Run don’t Walk… Join us with Pride

Celebrating a city that values inclusion, visibility and coming together with pride.

As proud sponsors of this year's Pride Parade, the University invites you to show support for the community and help create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all, as we celebrate diversity across our Rainbow City

Pride Parade and party in the park

  • Saturday 6 June 2026, 12 midday-8pm
  • Wolverhampton  City Centre and West Park
  • Free entry!

All are welcome to come and celebrate loud, proud, and unapologetically. Whether you’re coming with your chosen family, your best mates, or flying solo, ready to meet new people. Pride is your space to shine.

The parade will begin at Victoria Street (11.30 am arrival for a midday start), before making its way to West Park, where the main Pride event will take place. An additional accessible joining point will also be available near Molineux Stadium on Waterloo Road, ensuring everyone can get involved.

Unite with the University in solidarity and pride

Staff and students at the University of Wolverhampton are proud to be taking part in Wolverhampton Pride this year. As a community of staff, students, and allies, we are committed to visibility, solidarity, and celebrating the diversity that strengthens our university alongside the city some of us call home.

Helen Keane, Co-Chair of the University's LGBTQ+ Staff Network, said: "For many of us, myself included as someone from Wolverhampton, this event is a meaningful celebration of the people, culture, and resilience that define our city."

Both the LGBTQ+ Staff Network and the LGBTQ+ Society will be present at the event, and we welcome any staff or students, whether active members of our LGBTQ+ networks, curious newcomers, or supportive allies to join us for the parade march or meet us at the festival site in West Park. We will have an activation stand at the park, so drop by and say hello.

Pride is for everyone, and this is a great opportunity to connect, celebrate, and show support for our LGBTQ+ community. Wolverhampton Council have made this a FREE event, making it even more accessible for staff, students, families, and allies across the city to attend and take part. We look forward to seeing you there.
