University student's new book tells the unofficial story of Wolverhampton
Lee Brickley, an established professional writer of 15 years who joined the University last year to study History and War Studies, has recently released The Unofficial Wolverhampton: An A-Z of People, Machines, Music and Trouble. The book brings together fascinating stories, notable figures, and overlooked moments from the city's past, shining a spotlight on Wolverhampton's rich heritage and the people who have helped shape it.
The publication has been featured by both the Express & Star and Birmingham Live, with Lee discussing how his studies helped inspire the project. In an interview with the Express & Star, he explained that his interest in Wolverhampton's history developed through his course and independent research into the city's past.
“My teacher Dan was just so brilliant at bringing the stories to life, so it sparked an interest and, outside of that, I just started researching and writing extensively about Wolverhampton and that’s where the book came from.”
Combining his passion for storytelling with academic research, Lee has created a book that celebrates the people, events and achievements that make Wolverhampton unique, while helping readers discover stories that may otherwise have been forgotten.
Congratulations to Lee on the publication of his book and the recognition it has received in the local media.
The Unofficial Wolverhampton: An A-Z of People, Machines, Music and Trouble is available to purchase on Amazon.
