University celebrates further rise in National Student Survey results
The University of Wolverhampton is celebrating another year of strong performance in the National Student Survey (NSS), with improvements recorded across all survey themes and every theme performing above benchmark.
The results, published today, demonstrate continued progress in student satisfaction and build on the significant gains achieved in 2025. The University's response rate also increased to 76 per cent, providing a highly representative picture of the student experience.
The NSS is one of the UK's most important measures of the student academic experience, gathering feedback from final-year undergraduate students on areas including teaching, academic support, learning resources and the wider course experience.
Among the University's strongest results this year:
- Teaching on My Course rose to 89.1 per cent, up from 87.5 per cent in 2025.
- Assessment and Feedback increased to 87.8 per cent, representing a 2.3 percentage point improvement on last year and placing the University 4.1 percentage points above benchmark.
- Organisation and Management improved significantly to 80.5 per cent, compared with 75.1 per cent in 2025.
- Teaching on My Course, Learning Opportunities, Assessment and Feedback, Student Voice and Learning Resources all performed above sector.
All three of the University’s faculties recorded improvements across every theme.
Professor Gill Knight, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Academic Leadership and Student Experience, said:
"I am delighted to see further improvements in this year's National Student Survey results, building on the strong progress we made last year. These outcomes reflect the collective commitment of colleagues across the University to listening to our students and continuously enhancing their experience.
"It is particularly encouraging to see gains across a number of key areas, demonstrating the impact of targeted work at course, School and institutional level. While there is always more to do, these results are clear evidence that our shared focus on teaching quality, academic support and the wider student experience is making a real difference.
"I would like to thank colleagues for their professionalism and dedication, and our students for their valuable feedback, which continues to shape our direction and priorities."
The latest NSS results add to a growing body of external recognition for the University, following success in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards, where students ranked the University among the UK's leading institutions. Together, these achievements reflect the University's ongoing commitment to providing an outstanding student experience and delivering positive outcomes for its students.
