Free environmental leadership programme
Applications are now open for the 2026/27 Environmental Leadership Programme (ELP2), a free nine-month programme that helps young people across the West Midlands turn their concern for the environment into practical action.
The programme supports 18-25 year olds from underrepresented and underserved communities through community projects, leadership development, and hands-on experience. No previous experience is needed, and it is designed to fit around study, work, and other commitments.
What students gain
Participants will develop transferable skills that strengthen a CV, including project management, teamwork, and networking. They will also build confidence as leaders, meet like-minded young people from across the region, and make a visible difference in their local community.
Who can apply
The programme is open to anyone who is:
- aged 18-25
- living or studying in the West Midlands (Shropshire, Telford, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Birmingham, or the Black Country)
- interested in having their voice heard and creating positive change
- curious about environmental and climate issues, whatever their experience.
How to apply
Complete this application form by Friday 23 October.
