Refworks changing to EndNote Fusion

06/10/2026

From 6 October, RefWorks will be known as EndNote Fusion, following a rebrand by Clarivate.

The change affects the name and appearance of the platform, but students and staff can continue using the service as normal. Existing accounts, references, folders and saved content will remain unchanged, with no action required from users.

EndNote Fusion combines the familiar features of RefWorks with a refreshed identity that aligns more closely with Clarivate’s wider EndNote portfolio. While users will notice a new name and a slightly updated interface, the core functionality of the platform remains the same.

The reference management tool continues to support students, researchers and academic staff with organising references, managing bibliographies and citing sources throughout the research and writing process.

Anyone with an existing RefWorks account can simply sign in and carry on working as usual.

What does this mean for users?

  • No action is required from current users.
  • Existing accounts, references and folders will remain intact.
  • Core features and functionality will continue to work in the same way.
  • The platform will have a new name and refreshed visual design.

Students and colleagues who use the service for coursework, dissertations, research projects and academic publications can expect a smooth transition.
