The University of Wolverhampton has been ranked in the Top 10 universities in the UK, and first in the West Midlands, for University of the Year in the prestigious 2026 Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs).

The WUSCAs is the UK’s largest student-led awards, drawing on tens of thousands of verified reviews from current students across the country.

  • Top 5 for Halls of residence
  • Top 15 for Lecturers and Teaching Quality
  • Top 20 for Postgraduate study and Student Life
  • Top 25 for International student experience

Regionally, the University of Wolverhampton attained the number one spot overall as University of the Year in the West Midlands.  The University was also placed first for a further five categories:

  • Facilities
  • Student life
  • Student support
  • Students’ Union
  • Halls of residence

This latest recognition by students reflects the strength of its student experience across teaching, support and facilities and marks a significant rise in the WUSCAs table in 2025 where it was ranked 46th nationally.

University of Wolverhampton Vice Chancellor, Ebrahim Adia said:

In just a few years, we have moved from outside the Top 50 to securing a place among the UK’s Top 10 for University of the Year, reflecting the sustained commitment of our staff to delivering an outstanding student experience.

“We will continue to build on this momentum, ensuring that every student who chooses Wolverhampton benefits from a supportive, inclusive and high-quality university experience.”
