The BA (Hons) Business and Accounting at the University of Wolverhampton combines core accounting knowledge with a broader understanding of how businesses operate in an increasingly digital and global environment. You’ll study practical and career-focused modules such as Principles of Accounting, Introduction to Digital Business and Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Essentials, alongside later study in areas including financial and management accounting, corporate finance, taxation and auditing. The course also gives you opportunities to build your digital capability through accounting software and other technologies, helping you develop the commercial awareness and analytical skills employers look for.
Employability is a major focus of the degree. Every student is guaranteed a professional placement, and you can also choose a longer sandwich placement or study abroad opportunity. The course offers opportunities for exemptions from CIMA and ACCA, and you may work with practising managers through company projects, guest lectures, site visits and placements. Wolverhampton highlights career routes in accountancy, banking, finance and general management, while also supporting students to strengthen their CVs, interview skills, leadership, teamwork and project management experience before graduation.
