Businesses invited to unlock the potential of AI

Businesses from across the region are being invited to discover how artificial intelligence can help them work smarter, grow and remain competitive at a special breakfast event hosted by the University of Wolverhampton during Wolverhampton Business Week.

‘Adopting AI Within Your Business’ will take place on Thursday 24 September, from 8am to 10am, at the University’s National Brownfield Institute in Wolverhampton. The event will bring together business leaders, innovators and AI specialists to explore the practical opportunities and challenges associated with adopting AI technologies in the workplace.

Attendees will gain practical insights from AI experts on where to start their AI journey, how to identify opportunities within their organisations and how to approach implementation with confidence. The session will also provide opportunities for businesses to share challenges, take part in an interactive survey and network with fellow professionals over breakfast.

The event is being supported by the University’s Department of Computing, which delivers specialist teaching and research across areas including Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science and Cyber Security. The Department plays a key role in developing the digital skills and expertise needed to support innovation and business growth across the region.

As part of the event, the University will be unveiling its plans around a new AI Academy, which reinforces its commitment to supporting working with local organisations to support the adoption of emerging technologies.

Professor Prashant Pillai, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange at the University of Wolverhampton, said:

"Artificial intelligence is no longer a future consideration for businesses. It is a technology that is already transforming the way organisations operate, make decisions and engage with customers.

"However, many businesses are unsure where to begin or how to adopt AI in a way that delivers real value. This event is designed to cut through the hype and provide practical guidance, informed by expert knowledge and real-world experience.

"As a University with significant strengths in computing, digital technologies and innovation, we are committed to supporting businesses across the region to understand emerging technologies, develop new capabilities and drive sustainable growth. The event is organised by the University’s Research and Enterprise Directorate and is free to attend, although places are limited.
