Celebrating the Success of Our Indian Exchange Research Students
The Research Institute in Healthcare Science recently celebrated the achievements of our research exchange students from SASTRA University, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India, who are completing their six-month research programme at the University of Wolverhampton. Leading up to the research presentations, we all shared a delicious pot-luck lunch featuring an impressive selection of homemade dishes and baked treats prepared by our PhD students and staff members of RIHS. The event showcased the outstanding work of our exchange students currently studying for their undergraduate and master's degrees.
The seminar featured the following presentations:
- Varsha Ravi – Validation of RNA-Sequencing Derived Mechanisms of Disulfiram-Copper in Malignant Mesothelioma
- Sree Manogna Anumanchi – Investigation of Anticancer Immunomodulatory Mechanisms of Zinc-Diethyldithiocarbamate in Multiple Myeloma and T-cell Models Using RNA-Sequencing
- Nithya Shree Seetharaman Karthi – Investigating the Impact of ARFGEF3 Loss on Axon Guidance Pathways in Breast Cancer Cells
- Sai Sudarshana Subramaniam – Investigating the Impact of HSPG2 Loss on Signalling Pathways in Breast Cancer Cells
The students were presented with certificates in recognition of their dedication and contribution to the programme. Their presentations were of an exceptionally high calibre, demonstrating excellent scientific understanding, professionalism and great promise for the future. They should be immensely proud of everything they have achieved during their time with us.
We would like to thank all of our exchange students for their hard work, enthusiasm and valuable contributions to research within RIHS. Their presence has enriched our research culture, fostered international collaboration and strengthened the academic community at the University of Wolverhampton.
We wish them every success as they return to continue their studies and look forward to seeing their future achievements.
